Stanz im Mürz Valley - An extremely tragic traffic accident occurred in Styria in Austria on Saturday. A mother ran her own son over with her SUV. The two-year-old succumbed to his injuries. Particularly dramatic: The woman hadn't noticed the accident at first. It was only hours later that she found out about the death of her son, which she must have caused herself.
Mother runs over son in SUV - she didn't even notice the accident
On Saturday morning the two-year-old was with his grandparents in a stable building of the mountain farm, which belongs to the parents, as the Styrian State Police Directorate announced. The police assume that the child then secretly removed himself from the stable and ran out into the yard.
The boy's mother wanted to leave the site at this very moment in her car. Here she is said to have hit and knocked down her son. Due to the elevated seating position in the SUV and since the gravel road on which she was traveling was slightly sloping, according to an initial assessment by the police, the woman had no chance of seeing the boy in time when she drove off.
Mother does not notice the accident: she suffers severe shock
But not only that: The mother apparently didn't notice the accident at all. Only the grandfather found the boy seriously injured on the dirt road in the yard. He immediately called the emergency services. A team of emergency doctors then treated the seriously injured boy on site. The two-year-old was then flown to a hospital in Graz with a rescue helicopter. There he eventually died from the consequences of his injuries.
The mother of the two-year-old didn't come home until just two hours later. She suffered a severe shock and was given medical care in a hospital.

In Munich, SUV drivers were directly hostile to notes. An owner of an SUV e-car was not very enthusiastic himself and tried to get rid of the vehicle as quickly as possible.
