Whether snow removal services, fire extinguishing or traffic accident assistance - the 87 active members of the 146 fire service members were challenged in many places in 2019. Commandant Andreas Spohn and club chairman Florian Seitner documented this in accountability reports.

Wolfratshausen - "The tasks are no less," Seitner stated. Unfortunately, it can be observed that the emergency services are increasingly being hindered in their work. Parked fire brigade entrances, unintelligible road users during road closures and noise-sensitive neighbors sometimes made it very difficult for the Florians' disciples.

Overall, Spohn recorded 271 missions last year, which took 4086 hours. If you add the time required for the 171 exercises to the missions, security guards and meetings, the active members worked a total of 11 388 hours. In order to cope with this volume, the fire department changed its exercise and training concept a year ago. Every Tuesday, according to Spohn, work is now being carried out to improve existing knowledge and skills. Special and special exercises at the Geretsried Fire Brigade School also contribute to this. Spohn receives personal support from his newly elected deputies Andreas Bauer and Sebastian Höpfer in March 2019.

It was also essential to renew or modernize the equipment. This includes the procurement of efficient breathing apparatus, a new rubber dinghy for water rescue, a thermal imaging camera and a large fan. The city of Wolfratshausen, which has adopted a fire brigade requirements plan, provides financial support. "It is our job to equip the fire brigade with modern equipment," emphasized Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner. At the same time, he thanked the emergency services for their constant readiness.

Spohn remembered the extinguishing of a garage fire in Icking and the lightning strike in a Waldram roof truss on August 25. "The rapid intervention of the first fire truck from Wolfratshausen prevented a worse spread to other floors or the neighboring building," Spohn reported. Thanks to the support of the weirs from Weidach and Geretsried, the tricky situation was quickly dealt with.

Even on the very busy open house day on September 15, the fire department had to deploy six times. "Anyone could understand if one or the other was fed up," said Heilinglechner. That this was not the case was also due to the intact comradeship and a varied club life. Florian Seitner referred to sociable sheep head evenings, darts tournaments and a raft trip. District fire inspector Erich Zengerle recommended keeping this tradition: "An intact club life contributes to the promotion of the active team."
