It is a major project that arouses the spirits in Haimhausen: the replacement of the Stromtrasse. There are two variants. Now a community of interests has formed. You absolutely want to avoid one of the two variants.

Haimhausen - The topic has been circulating in Haimhausen since October 2019. More precisely: Since the company Tennet presented its plans for the new power line in the municipal council (we reported). The project: renew the existing route in order to guarantee a reliable power supply - even after all nuclear power plants have been shut down.

However, there are several problems. The planners imagine either a north or a south variant. According to the newly founded "Interest Group Against the Monsterstromtrasse Nord (IGM)", the northern variant is to be used to build multi-storey electricity pylons at the highest point in Haimhausen, i.e. between the Kramer Kreuz and Inhausen. What bothers the IGM: Although the new mast types are the same height as the existing ones, they are about six to 14 meters wider. For comparison: According to Mayor Peter Felbermeier, the existing masts are 70 meters high and 40 meters wide.

Another disadvantage of the northern variant is that this route makes a “diverter” towards a settlement. "The undisturbed view from the Kramer Kreuz across the Inhauser Church to Munich and the Alps would be a thing of the past there," says the IGM. It would also massively restrict community development planning, and land would lose value.

As an alternative, Tennet has the Südtrasse in store. This would run largely over the existing route, but with the wider masts. The IGM has not yet raised any objections in this regard.

Tennet cannot simply let the new lines run over the old route, since the old route can only be dismantled when the new one has already started operation.

Power lines are also a big issue in the current election campaign. All three mayor candidates, Peter Felbermeier, Sabrina Spallek and Detlef Wiese, had spoken out against the Nordtrasse during a panel discussion. All three hope that further solutions can be found.

The municipality has engaged a lawyer for all further steps. The plans of the Tennet company stipulate that the spatial planning procedure will take place until 2021, the planning procedure until 2025. Construction and commissioning should take place in 2026.
