  • Unknowns broke into a luxury watch shop in downtown Munich.
  • The perpetrators had hit the door of the shop with an Audi A6 .
  • Once again , the jeweler is robbed using the same method .

Update from 6 p.m .: A huge bang shook Residenzstrasse in Munich's old town during the night on Monday, as the tz (Tuesday edition) reports: Burglars with an Audi A6 crashed into the front door of the Swiss company Bucherer. There is talk of a lightning attack , in which the business was cleared and luxury watches worth a million and a half were stolen!

The jeweler's alarm system informed the police about the raid at around 3:40 am, whereupon several strips rushed to the crime scene. When it arrived, the Audi was still in the shop - and broken showcases . “They were hammered in with a hammer,” explains Holger Schmidt, who is responsible for the burglary department. The break-in itself must have taken only a few minutes ; the damage to property that they caused is estimated at 500,000 euros . So far, the perpetrators have not been found .

Another getaway vehicle , a VW Golf, is later found in front of the Munich P1 luxury disco - smeared with blood on the inside. The result is that both vehicles have previously been reported stolen.

Bucherer is a Swiss company and claims to be "the leading and largest jeweler of watches and jewelry in Europe". There are four different branches in Munich itself. Odd: in 2018 and 2019, Bucherer branches in Switzerland had already been robbed - and also with cars as battering rams .
