Super Bowl hangover: 17 million are missing their jobs 0:40

New York (CNN Business) - Super Bowl LIV averaged 102 million viewers on several channels and broadcast signals, according to Fox.

That number increased with respect to the great game last year, which averaged approximately 100 million viewers on CBS and broadcast media.

This year's game, in which the Kansas City Chiefs returned to beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20, averaged 99.9 million viewers alone with Fox. Others tuned Fox Sports, their Spanish sports channel, or They saw it as a live broadcast on Fox, NFL and Verizon. That makes it the 10th most watched Super Bowl in history.

The Super Bowl is the most watched show on television every year. It also attracts large crowds at parties, bars and restaurants. Nielsen does not count those who look away from home, so the actual size of the audience is probably larger than the numbers show.

In this year's showdown, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes led an exciting offense during the final minutes of the game to win the team's first Super Bowl in 50 years.

The Super Bowl LIV serves as the perfect close to the NFL year, which included qualifying increases for its regular season and several rounds of the playoffs.

The NFL television audience for the 2019 season increased by approximately 5% overall over the previous year. It was the most watched NFL season in three years.
