The bodies of Kobe Bryant and her daughter Gianna, plus those of the other seven victims who died on the last Sunday, January 26, when the helicopter they were traveling crashed were made available to their families, according to the county coroner's office of the Angels.
The delivery of the bodies to the families, which took place this Saturday, will result in a prompt resolution regarding when the funerals will be performed and, especially, where and how they will be carried out. In recent hours, the idea of holding a joint ceremony for all victims gained strength.
While there are no details about it, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti confirmed that he has an almost daily dialogue with the Lakers and Vanessa Bryant, the player's wife.
Angelic officials are working on plans for the funeral, whose realization at the Staples Center (the Lakers Stadium) seems increasingly remote from reality due to the low capacity of the venue (20,000 people).

"Without a doubt there will be a ceremony to highlight the contributions of this incredible man, but not only him, but also to commemorate the losses of his daughter and the other families that were with them," said the mayor before adding: "A message important is that this is not just about a basketball player, but about a father, a leader, an audiovisual producer, an artist, someone who was much more than he was on the court. "
Garcetti closed saying: "We are a city that believes in the other, that believes in something bigger than ourselves and that will do everything possible for this to take place and for everyone to attend."
At the same time that this information was communicated regarding the delivery of the bodies, it was added that the cause of the death of the nine people was a blunt trauma in the context of an accident.
The National Transportation Safety Board, however, continues to work to determine the exact causes of the incident that claimed the life of former Los Angeles Lakers star basketball player and his second daughter. A preliminary report is expected for these days ("Typically, it is about 10 business days," they explained from the forensic office) but the final one will not come out before at least one year to a year and a half .
