Neuried is to receive an old people's care home with around 100 places and assisted living. The center is to be built on the meadow directly at the entrance to the town in a rectangle between the cemetery, the state road, Mangfallstrasse and Lindenallee.

Neuried city planner Kurt Brey presented a draft to the building committee in cooperation with the Plan + Idee Projektentwicklung office on Tuesday. The property to be built is the northern part of development plan 25 “Lindenallee”, which was decided in 1999. In the southern part of the development plan there is a residential area along Lindenallee. Since the area to be developed is defined in the land use plan as "areas for agriculture", it would first have to be rededicated to a general residential area, Brey said. The area is 11,000 m2, the majority of which is owned by a private individual. The municipality owns only 600 m2. After consultation with the landowner and the municipality, Plan + Idee developed this draft of a facility for age-appropriate and assisted living with two possible buildings, parking spaces and possibly an underground car park.

This would mean that there was an offer for older citizens in Neuried that had never existed before. City planner Brey: "According to demographic developments, there can be an increase in demand for residential care here in the village in the next few years." This planning framework is currently only a kind of guideline for a future investor and operator.

Despite the early planning stage, the city planner addressed possible access routes. One variant envisages access via the Lindenallee along the east side of the cemetery. The other could flow into the area directly from Planegger Strasse via a turning lane. However, a plot of land belonging to the neighboring community of Planegg would have to be included here.

Noise pollution from the state road will certainly also be an issue in the concrete planning, said Brey. Here he mentioned - in addition to elongated buildings and suitable soundproofing measures - the possibility of moving the Neuieder town sign 250 meters to the west. By reducing the top speed from 70 to 50 km / h, the noise level could also be reduced.

The members of the construction committee welcomed this major project across the board. "Really a necessary building for Neuried," said municipal councilor Birgit Zipfel (Greens). With a unanimous recommendation to the local council, the construction committee approved a corresponding decision.
