Panama plans to repatriate more Panamanians from China, due to the risk of coronavirus

(CNN Spanish) - The Panamanian government reported Thursday that it plans to repatriate another group of students from China, with the aim of reducing the risks of contagion of coronavirus; As any Panamanian who considers himself exposed in the Asian country can also request, the statement said.

The announcement was made during the visit of President Laurentino Cortizo, together with the Minister of Health and a representative of the World Health Organization, to the group of 34 scholarship students returned from China and who are isolated in the facilities of the National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC).

The Ministry of Health of Panama had confirmed on Tuesday, February 3, the transfer to another facility of the 26 young people who were in isolation and under observation in a school. The entity said that young people had no symptoms
compatible with the coronavirus.
