Vegan products in the crosshairs of the repression of fraud

The Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and the Repression of Fraud (DGCCRF), conducted a large survey in 374 establishments throughout France.


“Hemp milk”, “vegetable fillet like duck”, “vegetable bacon”, “Roquefort” but without a drop of milk… Some consumers lose their Latin when they wander the aisles of supermarkets, where vegan products and vegetarians now occupy entire shelves. They think they are drinking cow's milk, eating sheep's cheese or a piece of beef, but that is not the case. In the land of a thousand cheeses, where each region is proud of its gastronomic specialties, the appellations, abusive in some cases, can mislead lovers of French cuisine.
