Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that any talk of forced change of power in Venezuela is unacceptable.
"The United States is trying to dictate its terms to other countries and to spread its legislation outside of regional borders," Spovnik quoted Lavrov as saying during a meeting with Venezuelan Vice President Delsey Rodrigues in Caracas today.
"We have very close relations with Venezuela at all levels," Lavrov added, noting that important decisions were taken on further developing the partnership between the two countries and identified new forms and mechanisms aimed at protecting the economic cooperation of Moscow and Caracas from the sanctions policy pursued by Washington.
Lavrov also discussed with Rodriguez the preparations for a new meeting of the Intergovernmental Bilateral Committee, which held its last meeting in the Russian capital, Moscow, on April 5, 2019.
Venezuela is exposed to attempts to interfere with the United States in its internal affairs and destabilize it by tightening economic and financial sanctions and supporting right-wing forces in a desperate attempt by Washington to revive its plans to dominate this country that possesses huge oil wealth and the coup against the legitimate president using all means, including violence and chaos.
