Regional deputy of the group Libertés et Territoire, and elected from Morbihan, Paul Molac is disappointed. One more time. His bill on the protection and promotion of regional languages, which will be debated in the National Assembly on February 13, was emptied of its substance in committee. Five years ago, the deputies had already rejected a text which he had written in the same direction.

For Paul Molac, the parliamentarians of the LREM majority have applied " the instructions of the Minister of Education " who, according to him, does not really want to get involved in the promotion of regional languages. His proof is the reform of the baccalaureate which, by assigning less weight to these optional tests, will further weaken them. At the end of the discussion in committee, only the articles proposing the recognition of regional languages as an element of the heritage and reaffirming the bilingual signage on the panels, were preserved.
