Full house at the panel discussion of the Penzberg mayor candidates: Almost 450 visitors came to the town hall at the invitation of Penzberger Merkur / Weilheimer Tagblatt. Even more followed the evening in the livestream.
Penzberg - With the exception of a few nods, all the candidates for mayor were very factual on Thursday evening. On the podium were incumbent Elke Zehetner (SPD) and her challengers Stefan Korpan (CSU), Kerstin Engel (Greens), Armin Jabs (BfP), Markus Bocksberger (Penzberg with each other) and Michael Kühberger (FLP).

Moderator Boris Forstner, editor-in-chief of Penzberger Merkur / Weilheimer Tagblatt, got them on the tooth. The answers to the initial question gave a deep look: "How do you rate the cooperation in the city council in one word?" Markus Bocksberger: "Suspicious"; Kerstin Engel: "very good among the city councils"; Elke Zehetner: "constructive", Stefan Korpan: "seen from the outside - mixed up"; Armin Jabs: "mixed in"; Michael Kühberger: "competent".
In the more than two hours moderator Forstner also scattered readers' questions. There was talk about the management style as well as about affordable living space, which had previously been rated as one of the most important topics in Penzberg in an online survey. While everyone agreed on the need to create housing, there were differences in opinions as to which way to get there. Other points were the station area, public transport, climate protection and childcare.
