High-ranking visitors came to the inauguration of the completely refurbished hospital in Weilheim on Wednesday: Prime Minister Markus Söder, who delivered a speech for which he received a lot of applause and lots of laughs, and the designated Bishop Bertram Meier, who blessed the hospital band.
Weilheim - The numerous guests of the ceremony heard that Prime Minister Markus Söder had arrived at the refurbished Weilheim hospital before they saw the high attendance: the Weilheim town band started the Bavarian March of Defilement and Söder walked through the main entrance, which was specially opened for him, while the other guests - there was pretty much everything that has rank and name in the district - had entered the building through the back entrance.
With so much local celebrity, District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß also refrained from naming names - with one exception: "It is a special honor for me to greet our Prime Minister Markus Söder," she said. At the beginning of her term in office, the Weilheim hospital was "really not popular everywhere" - "mainly because of the years of investment backlog." Even with the support of the "top politician" living in the district, Alexander Dobrindt, the major project of the general renovation of the Weilheim hospital was started and now after four years of construction was completed.
The modernization cost around 50 million euros, the district raised 25 million euros, and the Free State contributed 25 million euros. This is an investment in the future: "We have stopped shrinking and whining," said the district administrator - Krankenhaus GmbH is a 100 percent subsidiary of the district. After thanking everyone involved and, above all, the hospital staff, she gave the floor to the Prime Minister "before Alex has to give me a 'speed' again".
Alex had never given him a handkerchief. "He tried to hold the water for me more often," Söder opened, earning loud laughter for the first time. The hospital now looks more like a wellness oasis than a clinic, Söder praised. A mixture of modern technology and humanity characterize houses like the Weilheim hospital. He emphasized the great importance of hospitals that are publicly owned: "Without public houses, long-term medical care cannot be maintained in the city or in the country," said Söder: "This is how I like a hospital: innovative, modern and close to the citizens. ”He wished“ good luck, God's blessing ”and that Dobrindt and he would find“ a lot of hearing in Berlin ”.
The designated bishop of the diocese of Augsburg, Bertram Meier, and regional bishop Christian Kopp asked for God's blessing for the modernized hospital and the new hospital chapel in the entrance area. Söder then left the building - through the main entrance.
