Over 300 Dachauers got a personal impression of the five OB candidates on Sunday during the panel discussion of the Dachauer Nachrichten. The applicants gave themselves nothing in an entertaining exchange of blows.

The guests of the panel discussion, which the local newspaper hosted yesterday in the ASV theater hall, had a great time when the acting mayor Florian Hartmann (SPD), Markus Erhorn (FW), Peter Gampenrieder (ÜB), Wolfgang Moll (Wir) and Peter Strauch (CSU) asked the questions of DN editor Stefanie Zipfer.
Growth and housing
Dachau is growing. 400 people, i.e. one percent growth per year, happens automatically, says Florian Hartmann. "On the MD site and in Augustenfeld, we can allow growth, but we can shape it." Gampenrieder demands that growth be set to the target size of 0.5 - one percent of our city cannot take it. An amusing discussion about the number of social housing between Strauch and Hartmann that was inaugurated in the past six years followed, from which Hartmann clearly emerged as the winner. Strauch claimed that there were eight, Hartmann countered that 47 were being built, including the location and date of the inauguration - and that Strauch might not have been on a few inaugurations. The OB had the laughs on his side. Moll accused him of: “They pin other people's successes on their lapels!” For this, the Wir candidate received loud boos from the audience.
Hartmann does not feel pressure on the housing market in Dachau. Because "we cannot build so many apartments that the rents fall". Markus Erhorn found this pressure "to talk away the web of ideas" as "huge mess".

Hartmann got into swimming when it came to bypassing: First he explained that the only sensible bypass was the western bypass, later he said that according to the report, no possible circumvention would bring the desired relief for Dachau. When asked by Gampenrieder, Hartmann said that the western bypass 40 years ago would have made sense. Strauch argued for a north-east bypass, Gampenrieder for a short north-east bypass, but only in accordance with the communities involved. Moll said that they had failed to control traffic policy, and that a north-east bypass could no longer be implemented. According to Erhorn, drivers at the train station should not be frightened - a powerful connection from the train station to the school center was needed.

The eternal criticism of Peter Strauch's urban budget is the personnel costs of the city of Dachau, 35 percent personnel growth is too much, "the administrative budget eats us up!" Wolfgang Moll makes the "budget fear". Gampenrieder made it clear: "Quality of life costs." You have to increase the income: Trade tax is generated based on a concept and a functioning business promotion. Markus Erhorn thinks that life can only cost so much "wia mia on account".
