Interior Minister Christophe Castaner welcomed Friday the efforts made in Strasbourg, in conjunction with the German authorities, to fight illegal immigration. Alongside the new prefect, Josiane Chevalier, the minister made a first step at the old German border post at Kehl. Located on the other side of the Europe Bridge, which spans the Rhine, this building has housed, since 1987, the "binational pole" bringing together the German federal police and the French air and border police (PAF). A second has since been created in Forbach-Saarbrücken. " We thank you for this Franco-German cooperation ", underlined Markus Ritter, president of the federal police department of Stuttgart, before discussions behind closed doors on the migratory pressure.
