The committees emanating from the General Conference of the 27th Federation of Trade Unions discussed this evening the decisions and proposals related to workers in their workplaces, the difficulties they face and the ways to address them.
Participants in the conference demanded that the families of the martyrs and the wounded be included in health care free of charge, and that drugs needed for chronic diseases of workers be provided, and the health care council be enlarged to include all workers in various sectors and activate drug control.
The participants stressed the necessity of developing the labor hospital in Homs, amending the law on hazardous work, requiring hospitals to receive workers and seeking to be end-of-service compensation from social solidarity funds, restoring the nature of work and the value of meals provided to workers and early retirement of dangerous work.
The participants pointed out the importance of restoring the labor housing in the labor city of Adra, allocating labor housing associations with land, allocating starting centers for land transportation, strengthening labor halls, expanding the investments of workers unions in the governorates to benefit the workers, establishing a medical educational complex that includes all specialties near a desert complex, and establishing a hotel for electric workers in Ras Al-Baset area, and including old unionists with health insurance.
They stressed the importance of reforming the industrial public sector, increasing allocations of expenditures for practical research and industrial development, and adopting a national strategy to improve the quality of public transport services and a plan to enhance the agricultural sector, being the most important source of income generation, restructuring of administrative positions, public service, protecting the public sector, enhancing its role, expanding economic investments, and reconsidering job descriptions And the angels.
Participants called for a comprehensive review of all legislation and laws related to work, speeding up the issuance of the new personnel law, issuing and setting more appropriate standards and controls for positive intervention processes, and integrating economic and participatory roles and responsibilities in decision-making.
The participants also called for continuing to work with sisterly and friendly trade union organizations and expanding relations with them to serve the working class and developing relations emanating from the International Trade Union Confederation and strengthening the role of Syrian women in various fields and to continue activities and activities in various trade union organizations and cooperation with the International Labor Organization and friendly and sister organizations and qualification of cadres Unionism and follow-up to recommendations that will be approved.
