Exceptional incident in Issawiya: Malek Issa, a 9-year-old from the village in East Jerusalem, was severely injured on Saturday due to a sponge ball that hit his eye. The bullet was shot by police forces as they tried to take control of order violations in the village, violations to which Issa was apparently caught by chance while returning from school.

The boy was evacuated to Hadassah Mount Scopus by his family, as he was severely injured, and from there he was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital when his condition stabilized slightly. Hadassah Medical Center spokeswoman said: "A 9-year-old from Issawiya faces us with serious injury to his head and head, we do not know the exact circumstances of the injury. After his stabilization, he was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem for further treatment of his injuries."

Police said: "During the operation of a police force in the village of Issawiya, a means of dispersing demonstrations was used by the forces, which resulted in a local minor being injured as a 9-year-old. The circumstances of the case are now being investigated."
