A hiker in the Faran River area in the south of the country today found a pilot's helmet, possibly belonging to Major Daniel Gaury, who fell during a training flight in 1984. The Air Force was updated to find the helmet, and it will be under review. In the IDF, we updated Guri and India's family to a citizen for his vigilance.

"On the helmet on the inside is a puppy and something like b.140," wrote hiker Yoav Negev in a post posted in the Facebook group "Peace Chasers, Peace and Floods." "From a brief search on the Internet, we found that in 1984, a Phantom plane crashed in which Major Gori Daniel and the flight attendant who were with him in the Negev were flying. No helmet indicated. The helmet remained on the ground." Later, Negev updated that the issue was moved to address the relevant factors.

Guri enlisted in a flying course in 1969, completed his regular service and continued into permanent service. During the Yom Kippur War he fought as a phantom pilot and in one of the battles he even dropped an Egyptian MiG aircraft. Upon his release, he worked as a spray pilot at Merom. He fought as a reserve pilot during the First Lebanon War, and returned to the IDF in 1983. On May 27, 1984, he went on a training flight with one of his trainees, Lieutenant Ilan Rosenthal, over the Negev plain. Guri was 32 at the time of death, leaving a woman in her eighth month of pregnancy.

On Memorial Day in 2014, his widow, Ophira, delivered the bereaved families at a ceremony for Air Force cavalry on Mount Mt. "This moment is burnt in my soul to the world. And it's been 30 years," she said. "This is the moment that crossed my life into two - those before and after. On the one hand, the lives of young people who had a youthful spirit, a lot of innocence, great joy, endless plans for the future, dreams and most of all, great love."
