The Eglingen municipal council has made a decision for the agricultural service center. Mayor Hubert Obehauser sees this as "an important signal".

Egling - the church of St. Georg, the Gasthaus Hansch, the area of the former drying, the large gravel works: this essentially consists of the Eglingen district of Feldkirchen. With regard to its future, important decisions were made at the latest council meeting. The short version: You are one step further when converting drying into an agricultural service center. However, a further development of the district is not possible.

But one after the other. The community has long been concerned with what should become of the former drying plant. It was closed in 2014 due to a lack of economy. There had previously been strife because the comrades wanted to switch from liquefied petroleum gas to lignite for the production of pellets - much to the unwillingness of the citizens who took the initiative against it.

At the end of the discussions, the plan was to create a modern agricultural service center on the site. The drying cooperative and the machine ring, previously based in Wolfratshausen and soon to be in Egling, agreed on this. As managing director Christian Stemmer recently explained in an information event, community machines are to be stationed in Feldkirchen. The administration should find its place in an office building. In addition, biomass is to be stored there, a local heating network could also supply the Feldkirchner.

On Tuesday, the municipal council unanimously passed the approval and preparation decision. So now the plans are being interpreted, the public authorities as well as private individuals can raise objections. The process will drag on for a while, but the machine ring is free to continue planning in parallel. Mayor Hubert Oberhauser is happy to have taken the next step. "We are setting an example. What will emerge there will have a positive impact on farmers in our community and beyond. ”

On the other hand, the community received bad news about their planned development plan for Feldkirchen. It was rejected by the government of Upper Bavaria because it is incompatible with the goals of the state development program. "This is annoying, especially because we were initially signaled that a development plan is possible," says Oberhauser. The decisive factor for the rejection is the fact that Feldkirchen is not connected. This means that the municipality will have to give up the plan to create living space for locals there at least in the near future.

The Hansch family, who wants to expand their inn into a hotel, can perhaps be helped in another way. "I fully understand the issue," explains Oberhauser. In this case, it should be enough to expand the outdoor area statute. "It is definitely faster than a development plan."
