UK Prime Minister canceled plans to visit White House following a series of clashes with US President • Earlier this month, Trump severed conversation between them

Transatlantic crisis: Many commentators have speculated that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Donald Trump will cooperate because of similarities between the two, while other commentators believe that their similar nature will cause friction and quarrels that will affect US-UK relations. The past month indicates that the latter were right.

Tonight (Saturday), the British Business Insider newspaper reported that Johnson canceled his planned visit to the White House, a visit that had been rejected several times in the past because of recent frictions with Trump - and fears of another confrontation during the visit itself. The Downing Street Prime Minister's Office claimed that the cancellation was a result of Johnson's desire to deal with domestic issues in person, but a Downing source insisted that was not the case.

The clashes between the two have so far touched on a large number of policy issues, including Iran, British use of Chinese technology to integrate 5th generation Internet infrastructure into the kingdom, and the United States' refusal to extradite to Britain a woman embassy worker who run a British young man and fled the country. In fact, according to the report, Trump even severely cut off a conversation between the two last month.

The relationship between the two actually began positively, with Trump calling Johnson a good, fantastic person, and even "Britain of Trump," because of the similarities between the two. But the clashes, together with the video from the NATO conference last December where Johnson was seen laughing at Trump along with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, French President Emmanuel Macron and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rotte, exacerbated the atmosphere between the two.

The most dangerous crisis in relations between the two countries is the G-5 crisis, and stems from the United States' demand for its allies not to purchase technology from the Chinese company Wavy, due to the company's ties to Chinese intelligence. The British government refused the US demand, which could lead to the cessation of intelligence cooperation between the two - a relationship that began in World War II and is considered the largest and most significant inter-state intelligence effort in history.
