GL Events, first partner of the 2023 World Cup in France

The Organizing Committee for the 2023 Rugby World Cup announces this Thursday's first "Premium" partner of the event.


It was at the opening of an evening organized at the Palais Brongniart in Paris on Thursday that Olivier Ginon and Claude Atcher revealed the partnership which links GL Events to the Rugby World Cup 2023 for three years. This first partnership rank with the Lyon event organization company, present in 20 countries around the world, is launching the economic countdown to the world tournament which will take place from September 8 to October 21, 2023, in eight French cities.

“This partnership with GL Events is very structuring, underlines Claude Atcher, president of the Organizing Committee, because it opens a series of announcements. Above all, it lays the foundations for what we want to do in 2023: a responsible World Cup, based on economic, social and sporting vectors. Our reason for being is to leave a mark. For our sport, for our country, for our people. The companies that will embark with us will not do notoriety sponsorship but responsibility sponsorship. This is essential for the acceptability of the general public. "

Ultimately, France 2023 will have eight leading partner companies, including GL Events, but also eight official suppliers and eight official supporter companies. The eight "Premium" companies will be known by July 2020.

Already present in the Top 14 as the owner of the Lyon Olympique Universitaire, Olivier Ginon fits even more into the landscape of French rugby with this announcement: “This major event before the Olympic Games, our group cannot be far from it. I'm not interested in pouring thousands of tonnes of concrete in a stadium, I prefer to find financial and human balances. The goal is to take small businesses with us, collectively. With an essential desire: that this World Cup be eco-responsible. ”

The draw for the pools of the 2023 World Cup will take place on November 29, 2020. At the end of the November tour which will determine the seeded seeds. Claude Atcher, President of France 2023, revealed to Le Figaro that this draw will be carried out in Paris, at the Palais Brongniart. The final schedule for the competition will be known at the end of February 2021 and the ticket office launched in March 2021.
