With the approach of the first round, security is essential at the heart of the municipalities. In a climate of general distrust of the government, the French acclaim their mayor as a credible and well identified interlocutor. The latest Fiducial-Odoxa barometer, revealed on January 30 by Le Figaro , is final: 61% of citizens believe that their councilor does not have enough police power to "intervene in the halls of buildings" or "call on remote monitoring ".
Our fellow citizens also urge candidates to maintain the municipal budget in this area, or even to increase it in order to "reinforce the security arrangements intended for vulnerable audiences". Faced with these pressing demands, elected officials are demanding more resources. They do not understand that their agents do not yet have the possibility of carrying out simple identity checks.
