Sylvain Maillard: "The essential is the dynamic"

It was the baptism of fire for Agnès Buzyn Wednesday evening. For its first political debate, the last candidate to enter the campaign faced on LCI all the other contenders vying for the mayor of Paris. In this debate "very well kept, (...) everyone was able to perfectly expose the project on the major themes that interest Parisians," said Sylvain Maillard, who found his candidate "good, calm and attentive" .

The member for Paris also paid tribute to her because she "took a beating" by the other candidates for her former ministerial functions, he said. "We attacked the government a lot through it," pointed out the elected official, candidate in the 8th arrondissement.

But according to Maillard, the former Minister of Health responded "well" and showed through the exercise of the debate "her sincerity" . Close to Benjamin Griveaux, he is full of praise for the new candidate: “We see someone who knows his files and who goes to the end by being able to take in hand complicated problems, which is lacking in d 'other candidates', assures the deputy who worked a lot with Agnès Buzyn within the framework of the social affairs commission. If he concedes "a little lack of notoriety" compared to the two other big candidates, the exercise was important so that Parisians know it better.

How does he explain the seven points behind Agnès Buzyn over Rachida Dati in the latest opinion polls? "Watch out for the polls!" launches the candidate. Scalded by the 2014 municipal elections, Maillard recalls that these are seventeen very different elections, with issues that are not the same from one arrondissement to another and “weightings of candidates that have not nothing to do ” . "The main thing is the dynamic," says the elected official, claiming to be very well received in the field.

In her priorities, Agnès Buzyn intends to remedy the isolation of the elderly. But for now, Sylvain Maillard maintains that it focuses mainly on the themes dear to Parisians that are safety and cleanliness. What sets it apart from its competitors? "When I look at what Rachida Dati did in the 7th arrondissement, for me, it is a political swindle," says the walker, tackling outgoing mayor Anne Hidalgo in the same way.

"It's com, com, com!" (…) Cleanliness doesn't interest Anne Hidalgo, she thinks the streets are clean. Surely around City Hall and probably downstairs, "he says. For the time being, the challenge is to "make a first round campaign" hoping to tip the "swing arrondissements that are the 14th, 12th, Paris center and 18th" .
