The MTR Tsuen Wan Depot was destroyed by petrol bombs on Friday night (6th). An off-duty auxiliary police officer crashed and rammed and entangled with the suspect. However, the suspect escaped. The off-duty police officers involved suffered minor injuries and were not required to be sent to hospital after treatment on the spot. According to MTR, the petrol bomb was thrown inside the depot, but no facilities were damaged and services were not affected; the police classified the case as "arson".

The site is near MTR Tsuen Wan Depot on Luquan New Village, Tongquan Road. At 10 o'clock last night, a passerby found a suspicious person suspected to have thrown a petrol bomb from the village platform towards the depot. After the suspect was found, he once collided with the passerby and escaped successfully. After the incident, the ground floor of the corridor between the MTR depot and Luyang Xincun left traces of broken glass and blackened. The police classified the case as "arson" and closed the scene for investigation afterwards.

Sources said that the passer-by of the crash was an off-duty police officer. At the time of the incident, he immediately stopped and pursued the suspect. The two sides collided and entangled, and finally the suspect escaped successfully. The off-duty police officer suffered minor injuries and refused to be sent to hospital after treatment on the spot.

A MTR spokesman said that at about 10.45 pm last night, the vehicle control center received a police notification that someone dropped a petrol bomb on the MTR Tsuen Wan Depot and the staff rushed to the scene to handle it. After the police and firefighters arrived at the scene, they initially confirmed that the petrol bomb was dropped in the depot, but no facilities were damaged. During the period, the train service on the Tsuen Wan Line was not affected. The incident has been referred to the police for follow-up.
