The Hachette group, a subsidiary of which was to publish Woody Allen's memoirs on April 7, announced Friday that it would not publish them following the criticism that the publication of the filmmaker's book had aroused.

" The decision to cancel Mr. Allen's book was difficult, " Sophie Cottrell, spokesperson for the Hachette group in the United States, said in an email to AFP. “ In recent days the management of HGB (Hachette Book Group, editor's note) has had long discussions with the staff and others. After listening, we came to the conclusion that maintaining publication was not feasible for HBG, ”she added.
