After high school in Tutzing, the technical high school in Starnberg is also closed due to coronavirus cases. The number of people infected has risen to ten.

Update Sunday, March 8, 7 p.m .: At the weekend, the number of confirmed corona cases in the Starnberg district increased further. By yesterday evening there were ten new infections since the middle of last week. As of today, Monday, the technical college (FOS) in Starnberg will be closed for more than a week. District administrator Karl Roth assigns personnel from the district administration to the health department. Some previously binding standards can no longer be met.

In addition to the four cases from last week - two men, including a trainer from FT Starnberg, as well as a student from Tutzinger Gymnasium and her father - six were added at the weekend. Among them is a man with connections to the Mainz area, who was visiting there and from whom a relative was tested positive. A 15-year-old was tested positive, who was at the FT football camp in Emilia-Romagna, but according to health official Dr. Lorenz Schröfl has definitely not infected the coach. A common source comes into question. The school that the youngster is attending does not have to be closed, since he was there for the last time when he was not yet infectious, as Schröfl said yesterday after a crisis meeting in the district office. All other children's tests were negative.

A man from the circle got infected from a work colleague, so the presumption. In all cases there is a coherent chain from where the virus comes. Two of the FOS Starnberg students were among those who tested positive, both of whom are infected from South Tyrol. The school with almost 400 students will therefore be closed from today and probably until March 18. This applies to both locations in Starnberg (Moos- and Gautinger Straße). The closure of the Tutzing high school had already been ordered on Friday. For all schools, Schröfl explained, there are hygiene plans that provide daily cleaning and partial disinfection - if only because of the flu viruses.

Coronavirus: seven people in the hospital

Seven of the currently ten known cases are in isolation in the hospital, some show cold symptoms, but do not have a fever. So far, the clinic has been compulsory, even if the person concerned was not ill. Head of Clinic Dr. Thomas Weiler does not speak of patients either. Bavaria has been allowed to send people who have tested positive to domestic isolation since Saturday. That would also be done, said Weiler, if the people were not in need of treatment. In this way, the capacities in the Starnberg hospitals should be preserved. Since Sunday, all employees who may even have contact with patients have been wearing protective masks - they protect patients, but not employees, from the virus. Weiler does not expect material shortages in the next few weeks.

Around 70 people are currently in quarantine in the district, and more will be added because of the new cases. In the long run, this will no longer be feasible if the number of cases increases, Roth said. Although he has already assigned two employees from the district office to strengthen the health department, there are only 3.5 doctor positions there. And the doctors have been dealing with the new virus much longer than others, namely since the end of January. The employees are at the limit, "the red line has actually been crossed," said the district administrator. That was also communicated to the state government.

Tutzing / Starnberg - New cases of the corona virus are also closing a school in the district of Starnberg. The high school in Tutzing is affected.

The announcement of the district office in the wording: "As it became known this afternoon, a child from the Tutzing grammar school was infected with the new type of corona virus. The health department and the school management have decided to keep the school and the midday care closed as a precaution from Saturday March 7th to Monday March 16th. All students are asked to stay at home. The closure follows the recommendations of the Bavarian Coronavirus Crisis Staff.

The child was with his family during the Carnival holidays in South Tyrol. The coronavirus was found in the child and father. Both were isolated. The child's state of health is good, the father shows symptoms of cold. The health department identified the contact persons from the school and private environment and caused them to be isolated at home. "
