Cairo-Sana

A child was killed and seven people were injured due to the prevailing weather conditions, which also resulted in severe material losses in a number of Egyptian governorates.

Egyptian media reported that a child was killed and 5 others were injured after two roofs collapsed in two houses in the Karnak village of the Abbot Center in Qena Governorate, Upper Egypt, as a result of the rainstorm and strong winds.

The same village witnessed the collapse of the roof of another house, which resulted in the injury of a child and her mother.

The wave of heavy rains in Egypt resulted in car crashes and road closures, and two passenger trains in Cairo collided, wounding 13 people with varying injuries.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority had warned earlier that the country was exposed to severe instability in weather conditions from today to Saturday, as the exciting winds of sand and dust become active and heavy rains fall.
