Due to the coronavirus, the national government suspended the arrival of flights from countries at risk , including all countries in Europe, the United States, China, South Korea, Japan and Iran. In addition, the health emergency was extended.
The Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU) also requires those who return to the country to stay in quarantine for fourteen days after visiting a coronavirus-infected country.
Article 9 establishes the "temporary suspension of flights" and clarifies that the measure will affect "international passenger flights from the 'affected areas', within a period of 30 days."
Furthermore, the text signed by President Alberto Fernández establishes penalties for travelers who do not comply with the recommended isolation after a trip to destinations advised against by the World Health Organization (WHO).
"The closure of museums, sports centers, game rooms, restaurants, swimming pools and other places of public access may be arranged; suspend public shows and all other massive events," states the decree.
Among other issues, the text provides that people over 65 comply with "social isolation" and avoid traveling by public transport and going to meetings.
Likewise, the extension of the health emergency is established for a period of one year. "
So far there are 31 confirmed cases in the country, including 3 local contacts.
