Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian State Duma, affirmed that the United States has demonstrated beyond any doubt its destabilizing role in Syria, calling on it to withdraw its occupying forces from its territory.

Slotsky, in an interview with a SANA correspondent in Moscow, commenting on the repeated US and Israeli attacks on Syrian soil, indicated that the arguments invoked by Washington and the Israeli entity in their aggression are "flimsy arguments and do not convince anyone," adding that "the Americans have demonstrated the nature of their undermining role in stability in Syria."

Slutsky expressed Russia's constant readiness to continue its role in lending a hand of assistance to Syria in the face of terrorism and stabilization, and said: "We have always been together and will remain so no matter how complicated the situation in Idlib and other parts of Syria."

Slutsky referred to the ancient history of Syria and its glorious traditions, explaining that the return of the displaced Syrians to their homeland contributes to its reconstruction.

In a similar interview, a member of the Russian Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights Alexander Brod affirmed Russia's firm commitment to respecting Syria's sovereignty without any external interference, indicating that the Turkish regime realized the seriousness of its policy towards Syria, including the straining of relations with Russia.

Prod stressed that Russia's policy is to stand by Syria in liberating its entire territory from terrorism and from the aggressive practices of other countries, whether those carried out through military aggression on its territory or the support of these countries to terrorist groups in it and their financing.
