The battle for the town halls is on, election day is approaching. In order to get a quick overview of the candidates or the locations, there is now a map.
Landkreis– On Sunday, March 15th, the time has come: In 21 municipalities in the district, the executive chairs in the town halls will be reassigned. Only in Bad Kohlgrub will no election take place. After Karl-Heinz Reichert's health-related departure, the citizens elected Franz Degele as the new village head in July 2018.
In the rest of the district, however, the decision is made on Sunday. Due to the large number of candidates, it is difficult to keep an overview. While there is only one candidate in some municipalities, in others several people apply for the post of mayor for the next six years. In Garmisch-Partenkirchen alone there are six candidates, including incumbent Dr. Sigrid Meierhofer (SPD). For this reason, we offer you a card on which you can get an overview in peace.
That's how it's done:
Municipalities: Each municipality in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen was put to the test before the election. By clicking on the community of your choice, you will receive the link to the appropriate article. It deals with the development of the municipality in the last legislative period, which projects were successfully designed or failed. You can also find out which plans for the future the municipality is making, which twists and turns, and other issues that affect citizens.
Candidates: On the map you will find the pictures of the candidates in their respective communities. If you click on a candidate, the name and party of the person appear. You will also find the link that leads to an article about the candidate. This includes a portrait of the applicant. Furthermore, the mayor aspirants talk about their future plans and wishes for the municipality and how they want to implement them.
