Geneva-Sana

The World Health Organization announced that the total number of cases of the virus Covid 19 in the world reached 132 thousand and 567 cases, while about 5 thousand people died as a result of infection with Corona virus and that Europe has become the center of the global epidemic.

The Director-General of the organization, Tedros Adhanum Gebresos, stressed during a press conference today that the experiences of China and South Korea proved that health isolation can save the lives of many people, stressing the need for health institutions in the world to be prepared to receive large numbers of patients.

Gebresos also stressed that the measures taken to cancel public events, large gatherings, quarantine, isolation of contacts and others should be beneficial to reduce the risk of the epidemic.

"These measures must be based on the local conditions of each country ... and if we cannot stop the spread, at least reduce it ... it is a new virus and a new situation, we all learn and search for other ways to prevent infection," Gebrissos said.

Gypressus announced the allocation of the Solidarity Fund to tackle the Corona virus, and the organization can receive contributions in it, calling for benefiting from the experiences of China, South Korea and Japan in dealing with the virus.

Countries had recorded new deaths and injuries from the emerging coronavirus, while tournaments and sporting events had been canceled, and flights had been suspended around the world in an attempt to control the outbreak.
