Thousands of collaborations across social networks have recently subscribed to a video in which Pope Francis appears to be calling people to keep many Sabbaths thought he was doing so due to the Corona virus that has plunged many spaces into Italy. In the video being distributed, the pope clearly states that there is room to keep Shabbat "like the Jews."

"It destroys the mental, spiritual and physiological state. Even the family union is affected and with it also affects the social situation. It is written 'On the seventh Saturday and winepress', which the Jews still observe and consider the Sabbath to holiness," said the Pope in a video distributed with Hebrew translation. "On Saturday you rest, one day a week, at least, out of respect and appreciation for God. Spending time with family, playing. We are not machines."

Many saw the video as a sign of the spread of the Corona virus around the world, and especially in Italy where thousands upon thousands were injured, the Pope also calls to keep Saturday and thus win the epidemic.

The video was apparently distributed after it was posted in a post by Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu on Facebook. "It's unbelievable. Those who have sent us decrees that we will not keep on Shabbos. Understand the value of Shabbat. We will not be surprised if tomorrow he decides to return the Temple lamp to us. You know the parochet. Who knows, maybe even the Arabs will get their minds and evacuate the Temple Mount. Temple. Understand that the temple is going to bring a blessing to the world, "the post said.

"Undoubtedly, Huldai will also decide to keep Shabbat with the whole family. Enjoy his wife and the children. Shutting down all the shops in Tel Aviv, that all employees will enjoy some life and rest on Shabbat. Have a good time. Why not? The question is not if it will be. There will be no doubt we're getting closer. "

But did the Pope call for Shabbos? Well, the answer is yes and no. Yes, because he did say it, and because there is nothing to do with Corona, to whom the video was linked, even though Rabbi Eliyahu did not make a connection.

The video released in 2018:

The new documentary "Pope Francis — A Man of His Word" shows the pontiff in a revealing interview, speaking without notes. 60 Minutes meets the man who made the film, Sunday at 8 pm ET https://t.co/yKUm4derby https://t.co/V1DhorKshv… pic.twitter.com/pFjHKYsCN1

The "Israel Today" test shows that this is an old video, a promo posted on Twitter of the TV show 60 Minutes in May 2018, with a pretty clear understanding that things will resonate. The video, part of an article in preparation for the release of a documentary called "Pope Francis - A Man Who Stops in His Word" did grab attention then, with more than 300 retweets, and is now being revived.
