European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expects to produce a European vaccine against the Corona virus by next fall.
Von der Line confirmed in a press conference today that the patent for the German company, Corvac Biotechnology, had been approved and that it had passed all necessary procedures.
Von der Line added that the company is likely to produce the vaccine by the fall.
The European Union has given the company 80 million euros to develop the vaccine, as von der Line expressed hope that with this support the vaccine will be put on the market, perhaps by the fall.
She confirmed that the European Union has launched public tenders for the purchase of respirators, medical gloves and respirators.
