Police on Wednesday charged a first charge against a 47-year-old Tel Aviv resident who breached the isolation he was supposed to be staying in and returned from abroad. Police had three clashes with the defendant, one on Friday next to the second defense train on Bograshov Street in Tel Aviv. And the third a few hours after being sent for house arrest on the Bograshov beach.

According to the indictment, last Friday the defendant arrived at the Haganah train station in Tel Aviv and after a confrontation with the guards there, they invited the police. When the police arrived, they checked the defendant at the terminal and found out that he was supposed to be in solitary confinement since he returned from abroad. After a fight with the police, he was transferred to his home where he was told not to leave the isolation. However, on Saturday evening he left his home on Bograshov Street in Tel Spring and stopped.

The next morning, he was brought to court where Judge Anat Yahav ordered him to be detained, but he was seen on the Bograshov Beach in Tel Aviv that very evening, and when he spotted an officer escaping after a foot chase, he was arrested.

Today in court, the prosecutor's representative claims that the defendant's repeated actions and the fact that he completely ignores the instructions given in his case, ordering him to be placed in solitary confinement in view of the worldwide spread of the Corona virus and the health authorities' persistent attempt to prevent its public dissemination in Israel indicate its danger. Judge Noa Tavor released him into full house detention for eight days at his parents' home under their continuous supervision and he will also accompany them to house arrest while maintaining isolation from another population.

Attorney Yael Messika, who represents the defendant on public defense, said in response: "This is a person with no criminal history who is dealing with post-trauma following his military service at the Border Police. It is clear that the violation of the isolation order is due to his mental state and he needs help. His release for isolation, and we hope the authorities will help him cope with his worsening situation following the difficult period. "
