Instead of statehood, anarchy is intertwined

Israel entered the third week of the epidemic. Dozens of new patients are diagnosed each day; Hundreds already carry; Tens of thousands are sent on vacation until a new announcement; And the Israeli government and professional teams are working around the clock to run a state of emergency. Looking at the world map is not encouraging.

Many victims and similarities are filled with doomsday scenarios of the past. But aside from all these events, the Israeli reality seems to surpass any imagination. While on one side it is clear to all that we are in the midst of an unprecedented health and economic crisis, on the other side we are endeavoring to produce precisely, and in addition, a political-political crisis, public chaos, on the border of anarchy.

When this is done in irresponsible tweets by left-wing commentators, it is angering, but not entirely surprising. But when the politicians themselves join the campaign to create a deliberate personal split among the public, it is already worrying. Thus, for example, Karin Elhohrer declared that "the Likud party is closing the Knesset under the auspices of the Corona. Anything else to tell is just a lie."

Mavi Michaeli warned: "Netanyahu is turning into an epidemic of national security. It allows him to use non-democratic means ... but what is convenient for Netanyahu is dangerous for the State of Israel." And Boogie Ya'alon explained: "For those who are not yet aware ... he uses irresponsibility in the threat of the Corona, neutralizing the court, deliberately violating the Knesset's democratic parliamentary oversight."

The culmination of national lawlessness was signed by Yair Lapid, published after the public was called into self-lockout: "Ask yourself which unelected government states that citizens should not leave the house." In other words, an illegitimate government has established an illegitimate closure and there is no reason to obey it. lawlessness.

It is customary to say that there are no judges in his grief. But these things were not said because of their grief, but rather because of the cynical exploitation of the plight of the citizens of the state. When others are in crisis, especially in the difficult moments, not only do they not demonstrate national responsibility and join the government unreservedly, they do not even bother to hold their tongue.

Instead, they storm the plight of the public and forcefully try to catch up with their minds. Provide him with fabricated and conspiracy theories about the connection between the epidemic and politics. To sow fear and anxiety, not of the real threat, not of the plague itself - but of the government that does everything to protect it.

These moments are nostalgic. A longing for Menachem Begin's statehood that unhesitatingly joined a national emergency government, Kosher without a portfolio, against the backdrop of the Six Day War. Longing for the national responsibility that Benjamin Netanyahu revealed when he took on the role of national explorer in Operation Cast Lead, and the opposition head went around the world speaking in praise of the Israeli government and justifying our way of fighting.

Why is this not happening today, the question is asked? How is it that they are watching a country threatened with the epidemic, and their whole business is a cold political calculation of another finger of the coalition, rather than a hand and foot to the country? The kingdom, unfortunately, is dead. The truth is, they were never theirs. And, instead of being confused, they are not promoting democracy, but writing a recipe for anarchy.
