Following a significant expansion of the number of servers at the Employment Service site, the ability to receive referrals was improved. Alongside this, in light of the ongoing load of thousands of faces, manual enrollment in the bureaus will continue to be possible (without queuing and without meeting with the placement coordinator).

Rami Graur, CEO of the Employment Service: "We are continuing to upgrade our technological capabilities, and the Employment Service site is now picking up tens of successes. As we have promised, we will recognize the eligibility of anyone who applies until March 26 as if it were registered earlier this week. We are aware of the enormous difficulty of jobseekers and employers - we will do everything possible to produce solutions for the public in the Corona crisis, which is expected to accompany in the near future. "

Scare scenario: NIS 25 billion for unemployment

The National Insurance Institute estimates that by the end of April there will be half a million unemployed and unemployed workers, including 400,000 new unemployed, who will be added to 100,000 unemployed before the outbreak of the Corona virus

It is estimated that as of March (about half of the month), the total payments for unemployment benefit and the NIS grant will amount to NIS 1.2 billion. The amount of unemployment benefit payments for April will be doubled, amounting to NIS 2.5 billion.

If the Corona crisis continues for six months, this is a huge sum of NIS 12.5 billion for unemployment benefits. In the event of a one-year outbreak scenario, Social Security will be required to pay a huge sum of NIS 25 billion for unemployment benefits.

Social Security estimates are based on the working assumption of the Corona Curve flattening. These estimates will change in the extreme scenario of an increase in the Corona curve.
