Starting Monday, the train will operate in a limited format, following the PM's guidelines. • On most lines, one train will be operated at one hour in each direction. • There is a 80% reduction in demand.

In line with the Prime Minister's and Health Ministry's guidelines on reducing public transport, and due to a minority of trips recorded in the past week, which reflected a decline of about 80 percent in demand, the Ministry of Transport instructed Israel Railways to operate the rail service in limited format, from Monday until a new announcement.

This means that the frequency of the trains will be reduced by about half, and one train will be operated at one hour, in each direction, in most lines. However, all stations will remain open for service, with the exception of YM Malha, Dimona and the first PM, which were closed to service as early as last week due to a shortage of train inspectors in isolation.

Israel Railways said: "We are again reminded that, in accordance with the Ministry of Health's directive, the use of the train for essential travel should be reduced, and that passengers required to be isolated should avoid using public transport during the isolation period."

"More information about the rail service and Corona issues can be found on the dedicated Israel Railways website for its passengers and includes recommendations and highlights, information on train traffic and travel routes of verified patients as provided by the Ministry of Health," it said.
