The Pentagon announced that at least two of its staff at its headquarters were infected with the new Corona virus in the first official acknowledgment that the disease had reached the Pentagon.
The US Air Force Command said in a statement on its website today that a staff member working in the office of the Health Agency of the Ministry of Defense in Virginia recently underwent an examination of the emerging corona virus, which gave positive results, noting that he visited the Pentagon headquarters for the last time on the 16th of this month.
The statement stated that another contracted military who is part of the Air Force and works at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense was also confirmed to be infected with the virus, pointing out that he visited the Pentagon for the last time in the second of this month and began receiving medical assistance and was placed in house isolation since the seventh of this month.
The statement indicated that the contracted military recently visited a forum at Andros Base, Maryland, and everyone who contacted him was subjected to health monitoring, but the Virginia Department of Health who followed up on his condition indicated that the risk from the person was low because he had not had any symptoms at the time.
This statement confirms the first official announcement by the United States Department of Defense that the "Covid 19" virus infection has reached the Pentagon, while Washington previously stated that a large number of its military personnel are infected with the virus, while some 2,600 of its military cadres deployed in Europe have quarantined themselves.
