Along with the corona, the hatred virus also spreads

The exciting Corona crisis on the world presents the fight against hate with new challenges. The level of anxiety and tension is also reflected in an increase in hate speech, anti-Semitism and xenophobia, both online and in the street. Conspiracy theories also flourish against the backdrop of global crises, because they answer the human need to plead guilty to the situation, and justify existing hatred for various groups.

Accusing Jews of spreading diseases and epidemics is not new. As early as the Black Plague in the 14th century, Jews were accused of its distribution, as was the case of the SARS outbreak and swine flu. Jews have also been labeled as financially profitable for disease and gain control over the affected population.

The same is now the case with various extremist-friendly internet platforms, such as Gab and 4 Chan, as well as Twitter and Telegram, prominently antisemitic propaganda, such as the one used by Jews, such as the Rothschild or George Soros, to widen their global influence, or Israel's claim Created the virus to infect its enemies - and the proof is that Prime Minister Netanyahu is in the negative. Another unfounded argument has been made that the US Federal Emergency Agency is run by the Chabad Movement.

Another argument, according to the anti-Semitic tradition that presents Jews as greed, is that they seek to exploit the crisis to profit, for example in developing the vaccine or by granting emergency loans. Another hatred is the expression of joy in the rise in Corona morbidity in Israel, as well as encouraging the spread of the virus among Jewish communities.

And if that is not enough, there is also the argument that, in light of reports of China's difficulty in the burial efforts of the victims of the Korna, a number of Holocaust victims can be doubted. That is, if China of 2020 fails to burn a certain number of bodies a day, how could it be that much higher numbers were burned 80 years ago?

Not only do Jews suffer from hatred: China and Chinese communities around the world suffer from stereotyping and racism, and Asians are accused of individuals and groups for spreading the virus. Nicknames like the "Chinese virus" or "Kung Flo" (disruption of "Kung Fu"), including by politicians and leaders, are used to label Chinese as responsible for the virus. In Israel, a new immigrant from the Bnei Menashe community was beaten this week because the attackers believed it was Sinai.

Other parts of the population are absent as well: hate speech against immigrants, and also against the LGBT community, even in the country. While the world is struggling with the plague, we must not abandon the fight with the accompanying hate that remains the day after. Leading words to actions and we must remember Now, more than ever, the dangers of hatred.
