Recorded at the Olympia, the last one-man-show of the actor and humorist is broadcast this Saturday March 21 on C8. Opportunity to come back with him, in these times of confinement, on his taste in television.

Confinement requires, François-Xavier Demaison no longer plays the President of the Republic in By the end of the nose, the comedy of Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de la Patellière (which should resume on September 8). However, this Saturday evening, he will be present among viewers of C8 which retransmits its third one-man-show which, after three years of touring, ended triumphantly at the Olympia. The opportunity to see or review the funny characters he drew with his accomplice Mickael Quiroga. This rugby player from Castres, a bit low on the forehead, a minister weighed down with saucepans, a Hindu who offers detox drinks or drivers in transition to the electric car…

LE FIGARO.- Do you watch a lot of television?

François-Xavier DEMAISON.- With my wife Anaïs, we are big consumers. But we select our programs. We are very France 5 and Arte, reports and documentaries on trips to escape. Since confinement, we watch a lot of health shows. I have a lot of empathy for the hospital staff who fight for us and the cashiers who are on the front line. We keep ourselves informed by following the news channels continuously. There is a "news" every twenty minutes. We are on the lookout and adapt our way of life according to the news.

With confinement, do you spend more time in front of the screens?

Of course, we “binge”! Having the chance to live half the time in the provinces, we stocked up like squirrels. Looking at the screen is the only thing artists can do. With my show broadcast this Saturday evening, I can go into people's homes and allow them to think about something else.

Rather films or series?

Both. We are, it is true, very home series. In particular You , with Penn Badgley on Netflix. It's happening in New York, it's cynical with a lot of dark humor. A delight! We were addicted to Game of Thrones, The Crown and loved The Sinner and Peaky Blinders . I also find that French fiction has become of high quality. I don't say that because I played in the police series Disappeared (2015)! I also produced the Quadra series on M6, the pilot of which was bought by Fox. In terms of films, I am very happy that Canal + has opened its bouquet free of charge. A beautiful gesture that allows us to discover the novelties that we had missed.

Guilty pleasures?

No, I assume everything. Even my taste for kids telecrochets show like "The Voice" or "Dance with the stars". In another genre, I particularly adore “La Maison France 5”, on Friday evening. I like to see how people have decorated their interior. With my wife, we are a bit of decoration psychopaths!

How are you doing right now with your daughter Sacha?

She is 12 and a half years old, she watches teenage things, series like Riverdale or Gossip Girl. Heart and serial killer stories - there are very few good guys on the platforms. I'm watching, but she's great. Like all teens, she likes to watch programs a little over her age ... She is fairly framed and does not watch anything even if there are a lot of things that we miss. But we try to instill in him a free will, an ability to protect himself.
