The Corona crisis is exacerbated in the United States: The total number of infections in New York City alone reached 10,346 people on Saturday, with the total number of infections in the country approaching 20,000.

The Washington Post reported today that a number of states in the United States intend to begin assigning corona tests to patients with moderate to severe condition and to the medical staff alone, since several states are already experiencing a shortage of tests. Health system officials in the state told the newspaper that "we have gone through the outbreak prevention phase, it is too late for that. Now we have to start treating patients."

Meanwhile, more than 75 million Americans are now in lockdown and are not instructed to leave their homes but for essential work or shopping. California Governor Gavin Newsom told Fox News: "This is not a permanent situation. It is a time when we are asked to do everything to protect our citizens."

Deficiencies are reported in the United States in equipment such as test kits, available test labs, blood packets and protective masks. President Trump has pledged to use the "protective manufacturing" law to convert the US medical device manufacturing industry to the crisis, but no concrete steps have yet been taken.

United States Vice President and President of the Corona Anti-Virus Mission Task Force Mike Pence announced he and his wife would undergo corona testing after one of his team members contracted the virus.
