State-run media outlets in North Korea announced Saturday that the country welcomes a letter sent by U.S. President Donald Trump to incumbent state ruler Kim Jong Un.
The state reportedly said it was a testimony "to the strong and strong personal ties" between the leaders. It was also reported that in the letter, Trump expressed his appreciation for Kim's efforts to prevent the spread of the Corona virus in his country.
"Trump expressed his intention to start a war on the plague and expressed his admiration for Chairman Kim's ability to protect his people from the plague's emergency threat," North Korea's state news agency KCNA wrote in a special statement.
Reuters reported that no official response was received from the White House confirming or denying the existence of such a letter. In spite of the warm words to the president of his country, The United States conducted another experiment with another ballistic missile from the east coast yesterday, a third experiment last month.
President Trump and Kim's personal relationship surfaced during a summit meeting in Hanoi, Vietnam's capital last year, after both leaders failed to reach an agreed-upon formula for dismantling North Korea from nuclear weapons.
