After hamster purchases due to Corona, the tables in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district had to close. They were given no more food. The tablets now received a large donation. And citizens want to help.
County - The horror was great. Many citizens could hardly believe it when they heard that the boards in the district - and beyond - have to close. Not because they cannot comply with hygiene and clearance requirements in times of the corona pandemic. Or because they would be affected by the ordered closures. No: The food banks were victims of the hamster purchases, too little food from the supermarkets remained for people in need who depend on food expenses. Citizens wanted to help, wondering where to drop off and donate food. Jochem Rollar, coordinator of the four tables in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district, now has an answer to this.
If you want to donate goods, you can do so at the relevant issue points (see list at the end). But Rollar expressly requests that "only non-perishable food" be brought over. The tables in Murnau, Mittenwald and Oberammergau remain closed this week. But Rollar hopes to reopen the delivery point in Garmisch-Partenkirchen this Friday. This is also thanks to a generous donation from the community foundation.

With this money, Rollar and his helpers will go shopping in the next few days, then put together packages on Friday in Garmisch-Partenkirchen at the delivery point behind the Protestant church), which the customers can do independently - at a sufficient distance from each other and without contact with the helpers to take. But Rollar has one problem: that the customers keep the two meters away from the site. He expects around 150 people to wait. To control them, "we cannot do this". Therefore, he will ask the police and the health department for support.
