Deputy Minister of Justice Judge Nizar Sadaqni confirmed that Legislative Decree No. 6 granting a general amnesty for crimes committed before the date 3-22-2020 included most of the crimes stipulated in the Penal Code while preserving personal rights.

He believed me that imposing punishment on the perpetrators of the crime is a constitutional right, but the state also has an obligation to take the necessary measures to protect people and to take the necessary measures and measures to ensure public safety and health.
And he believed me that the Legislative Decree granted a period longer than usual for those fleeing and hidden from view to surrender, as it was determined in the previous decrees by three months, while I specified this decree by six months, indicating that the Ministry of Justice asked the Public Prosecution offices in all governorates to start implementing it immediately.
The Deputy Minister of Justice pointed out that the amnesty decree included the most serious crimes, which punished the death penalty, life imprisonment and hard labor, but it stipulated that there be a forfeiture of a personal right from the person who was harmed by the crime and not just the payment of compensation.
Believe me, the amnesty decree did not include those who continued to deal in foreign currency and committed the crime after the issuance of Decree 3 of 2020. As for the rest of the crimes of this type, the decree covered the entire penalty or a third of it.
