Greece will go into general confinement from "Monday" in an attempt to stem the spread of the new coronavirus, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Sunday.

"I have ordered that all appropriate action be taken to enforce the prohibition of unnecessary movement across the country," the head of government said in a televised message to the nation, while Greece has so far registered 530 cases of coronavirus and 13 deaths.
Almost a billion people around the world are confined or partially confined to fight the virus.
