The director of Damascus countryside health, Dr. Yassin Na`nous, confirmed that the results of analyzes of samples from 31 Syrians out of 138 coming from countries that recorded cases of coronavirus infection were quarantined last Tuesday, and the results were negative, "that is, they are not infected with the virus."

Dr. Na`nus stated in a statement to the delegate of Sana that “nasal, oral and pharyngeal swabs” were taken from all of the mentioned Syrians who came from countries that recorded cases of emerging coronavirus, where the swabs were sent to the reference laboratory at the Ministry of Health to carry out the necessary analyzes and so far the results of 31 people have been issued. Negative, while the rest of the results will be released, according to the laboratory's capacity.

The laboratory capacity was recently increased to enable it to conduct from 30 to 40 samples per day instead of 10 to 15 samples in parallel with the work to increase supplies and qualified technical personnel.

Dr. Na`nouss pointed out that the people whose results have revealed negative results will leave the quarantine center at the Damascus International Airport Hotel this evening, and their conditions will be monitored through health communication teams on a daily basis in their homes until 14 days have passed.
