After coming in contact with a doctor who was diagnosed with corona, the 65-year-old chancellor decided to go into solitary confinement immediately • Merkel would undergo tests to find out if the virus was infected
A German government spokesman announced Sunday (Chancellor) that Chancellor Angela Merkel was in solitary confinement after she learned that Friday she had come in contact with a doctor who was diagnosed with the Corona virus. The doctor, inoculating Merkel against pneumonia, later found out that he himself had contracted the deadly virus.

The 65-year-old chancellor decided to shut herself in her apartment, opposite the Museum Island in Berlin, where she would undergo daily medical examinations to find out if the virus was infected. The spokesperson said that a single check was not enough to determine whether the chancellor was infected or not. Merkel will continue to run state affairs from her home. Over the past year, Merkel's health has been of great concern after being seen in several public events suffering from uncontrollable tremors.

Merkel learned of the doctor's treatment of her shortly after announcing at a press conference a series of measures to intensify the closure across Germany with a view to reducing the spread of the Corona epidemic. These are the most difficult restriction measures imposed on the citizens of democratic Germany since the end of the Nazi and Communist regimes and they will be in effect for now for two weeks.
The citizens of Germany were called to reduce their social contacts to their own households and other people to the minimum possible. In public places, more than two people were banned. People who have to leave their homes should keep a foot and a half to two feet apart. German authorities have announced a zero-tolerance policy for new violators, including fines of up to € 25,000 and imprisonment.
In Germany, eight more deaths from the Corona were reported yesterday, bringing the death toll from the country's ninja to 92. The number of people infected with the disease increased by 2,350 cases yesterday, and is now close to 25,000 people.
