The police are puzzled by the injuries sustained by a horse after a night excursion from its paddock in Benediktbeuern.

Benediktbeuern - An unusual case of an accident escape occurred on Thursday night in Meichelbeckstrasse in Benediktbeuern. A horse belonging to a 24-year-old woman from Kochel made an escape from the paddock during the night and was found standing in front of the paddock with various injuries to the head, stomach and hind foot in the morning, the police said.

After there were vehicle parts on both sides in the paddock area, the horse owner assumed that her horse might have been hit by a delivery truck and injured.

Since the driver did not report the collision with the horse, the police are now investigating unauthorized removal from the scene of the accident. Based on the vehicle parts found, the police estimate the damage to the alleged accident vehicle at around 5000 euros.

How the horse broke out of the paddock is not known. The outlet was secured with several lines, some of which carry electricity. Due to the location of the vehicle parts found at the scene of the accident, the police also believe that there may have been an oncoming traffic accident that was not recorded by the police. So the horse should have sustained the injuries elsewhere.
