(CNN Spanish) - The Colombian Minister of Justice, Margarita Cabello, reported this Sunday that an escape plan was presented from the La Modelo prison in Bogotá and there were riots in various detention centers in the country.
Cabello indicated that the result of this escape plan in La Modelo, 23 prisoners died, 80 prisoners were injured, of which 32 are in hospital centers. The official also reported that 7 officials of the Colombian Penitentiary Institute (INPEC) were injured, and 2 of them are in critical condition.

"There were no leaks. Here there was a criminal escape plan that was thwarted, nor is there a health problem that would have originated that plan, ”said the Minister of Justice.
Cabello reported that they will contact the families of the wounded and the deceased to give them the support they need.
