According to the paper, these decisions are made, if possible, by two physicians experienced in intensive medicine, as well as a representative of nursing staff and other specialists. The "multi-eye principle" applies. Prioritization of who is treated and who is not is based solely on the clinical prospects of success . Thus, the "treatment of those who have little or no prospect of success" could be dispensed with.
